Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund

Lapeer County Soldiers and Sailors Relief fund is intended to assist Veterans and their dependents who are facing an emergent need. The Lapeer County Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Affairs Committee oversees the Lapeer County Relief Fund. The Committee reviews and decides if applicants meet the requirements for applying.
Criteria for Applying:
To be eligible for this grant, the applicant must be a legal resident of Lapeer County and the State of Michigan for at least 90 days at the time of application. The Veteran must have been discharged under Honorable conditions with at least 6 months of active service or have been separated as the result of a physical or mental disability incurred in the line of duty (or aggravated by active duty). Applications have to be filed thru the local Veterans Affairs Office.
