Search and Rescue

Lapeer County Search and Rescue (LCSAR) was formed in 2018 as a subdivision of the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department. LCSAR is a non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer, non­ law enforcement unit, operating at no cost to the county, nor to those that it assists.

Serving primarily the Lapeer County area, LCSAR also assists communities nearby and across the state when requested. The team is comprised of professionally trained volunteers that strive to execute well planned searches to locate lost or missing persons, alive or deceased, both in urban and wilderness environments. Constant training and skills practice are conducted to maintain this ability.
