Inmate Communications


20230202_101236The Lapeer County Jail allows for electronic messages and electronic photos. Visitors can only bring cash and then they must deposit this in the Combine Public Communication (CPC) kiosk for inmate communication. This service is provided by a third part contract and there is a 50-cent fee to send messages or photos. All communication between inmates and their visitors will be monitored and recorded, both remote and on- site. Electronic message and electronic photographs are screened for content. Any electronic messages deemed inappropriate will be rejected. Inmates will be notified of rejected messages or photos. No credit will be given for rejected messages or photos.

Telephone Communcation 
Telephones are collect outing calls only from 7:30am to 10:30pm seven days a week.
Incoming calls for all inmates will be for emergencies only.
A call to courts, probation, and parole or other government agencies may be made for an inmate by a Corrections Officers if that Officer chooses to do so. Corrections Officers are not required to make calls. 
Telephone calls are monitored and recorded, an inmate request form must be submitted by the inmate if an unmonitored phone call to either a public official or attorney needs to be made. The written request must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance for staff to have time to arrange the unmonitored call. Per MCL 791.270
Inmates must only use their authorized PIN # for all phone calls made, this includes commissary phone ordering by each inmate.
