MI Avian InfluenzaMichigan is experiencing Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in both poultry flocks and dairy cattle.   The virus remains lethal and devasting to commercial and backyard poultry flocks.  Currently HPAI has been confirmed in 14 dairy farms in the state of Michigan.   Attached is a link to a letter recently sent to the dairy producers.   There is a great deal of detail regarding, prevention of spread, research and work around food safety and human health.  Please follow the link for more information.
